Earlier this month representatives from Friends of Banyule attended a meeting of the former CTAG (Coalition of Transport Action Groups) at the Collingwood Elderly Citizens Hall.
The meeting was attended by many community groups including YCAT, PTUA, Doncaster Rail Action Group, CARA (Collingwood and Abbotsford Resident’s Assocition), the Carlton Resident’s Association, Yarra Bicycle Users Group, Residents Against The Tunnel, Citizens for a Livable Melbourne, Friends of Banyule and other.

The objective of the meeting was to discuss how these groups could effectively form a new coalition to advocate for better public transport and against the EW tollway and tunnel.

A new organisation was formed to be called the Victorian Integrated Transport Alliance (VITAL). A working group has been established to take the groups’ formation to the next level and a further meeting will be held this month.

For more information about this group please contact Friends of Banyule at friendsofbanyule@gmail.com
