This weekend’s Friends of Banyule info stall was held by Dennis, Toni, Roland and David in the popular location at Leo’s Supermarket in Heidelberg. Friends of Banyule have been busy running stalls in multiple locations on weekends. The aim is to educate the community about better more sustainable and cheaper transport solutions than the NE-Link Freeway proposed by the government. We hand out flyers, no-freeway-signs and encourage residents to become members of Friends of Banyule so we can keep them informed about our campaign against the NE-Link-Freeway. Following our very successful public meeting earlier in the week which was attended by more than 600 local residents these stalls will be a feature for the next weekends leading up to the state election. And did I mention Anthony Carbines, ALP candidate for the seat of Ivanhoe was seen in the vicinity handing out flyers as well?
